I have been blessed to have experienced the very best education and training programs offered in my field. But I will never forget that it is a privilege and a profound responsibility to serve as a physician and psychiatrist. And that is why I never stop learning or working on my clinical skills. I also make it a point to learn from my patients, and understand that no two individuals are the same. Despite caring for thousands in my career, I still get challenged and humbled by cases, and I owe it to the person seeking my help, to not stop seeking answers. Knowledge is so important, but is only useful if I first gain the trust of my patients through careful listening and understanding. I always try to see the problems from their perspective, and how their struggles impact their world and loved ones.
