If you are facing mental health issues, NCGC offers highly structured intensive outpatient group therapy programs for anyone 18 or older. Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is for anyone who needs more support than traditional outpatient therapy provides. IOP takes place three hours a day, three days a week for approximately four weeks. Our intensive outpatient program is designed so you don’t have to put your life on hold during treatment.
We know therapy works better in a supportive group environment that promotes personal growth and understanding. Our groups focus on interpersonal skills, boundaries, coping skills, goal setting, distress tolerance, and value-based actions. You work with our staff and other patients to support one another and practice the coping skills necessary for your recovery.
Our program is designed to help people build a set of skills to acquire the strength to cope with their mental health issues. Many patients go through our program prior to individualized trauma treatment. We focus upon helping patients develop self-observation skills in a meaningful way while maintaining safety and stability.
We offer care for persons suffering with mental health and dual diagnoses, including:
• Anxiety disorders
• Mood disorders
• Trauma and stress related disorder
• Psychotic spectrum disorders
• Personality disorders
• Improved ability to manage day to day life
• Improved ability to cope with problems
• Reduction in distressing symptoms
We offer skills-based outpatient programs to ensure you are getting the right care, in the right place, at the right time – whether you are transitioning out of inpatient treatment, or you are receiving mental health therapy for the first time. To get the most out of outpatient treatment, it is important you attend all group sessions.
Primary group therapies include evidence-based treatments:
• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
• Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
• Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
• Family education and counseling
• Medication management
• Solution-focused therapy
• Trauma-informed therapy
• Wellness education
Physician referrals are not required, and we currently accept most commercial insurance. We will assist with prior authorization and help get you into our program quickly. However, clients are responsible for verifying their behavioral health coverage with their insurance provider.
The first step is an assessment by a licensed mental health professional to determine the level of care you need – inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient therapy, or traditional individual therapy. We recommend you bring a list of all your current medications to your initial appointment.
Immediately after the assessment, you will be scheduled with our psychiatric nurse practitioner for a health physical, including medical history. You will begin therapy the day after your appointment with the nurse practitioner.
Our group therapies are customized to your needs and the unique challenges you are facing. Our experienced team of mental health professionals will work with each group to personalize therapy. The interdisciplinary treatment team includes a psychiatric nurse practitioner, clinical psychologist, clinical social workers, registered nurse, and practice coordinator. Our goal is to give you the tools to help you attain a meaningful and fulfilling life.
