Mary Lloyd, LISW-S
Clinical Social Worker
“There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.” (Edith Wharton)
To me, healthy and productive therapy is a mirror. I believe my role as a therapist is to provide my clients with a safe and nonjudgmental space to show themselves entirely over time, and to share back with them what I see as internal and external barriers to contentment and growth in their lives. Ultimately, my goal is to help my clients help themselves by gaining clarity and awareness and in many cases implementing change. Experiences I have had in community mental health and in a hospital setting have been essential to the development of my ability to provide high quality client care. I use a client-centered and solution-driven therapeutic approach with techniques rooted in CBT, ACT, DBT and motivational interviewing. In my free time, you’ll find me outdoors enjoying nature, cooking and spending time with friends and family including my Labrador Retriever, Burrow.
